Revolve NTNU Team Interview
Introduce your team briefly
Revolve NTNU was founded in 2010 and was the first Norwegian Formula Student Team. We developed two combustion cars, before switching to electric in 2014 and had our first 4WD electric car in 2016. Since 2017, we have been developing both an autonomous and an electric race car each year. This year, we are producing our 10th car, which will drive both manually and autonomously.
Tell us about your team’s history with Formula Student
We attended our first competition at Formula Student UK in 2012, where we won Newcomer Of The Year and got 17th place overall. Since then, we have been on 19 podiums across the various disciplines and have been ranked in the World’s top 10 teams six times.
What does joining Formula Student Netherlands mean to you?
Joining FSN is a brilliant opportunity to test the car at an early stage in the summer. This way, we get to really see what needs to be improved on before other competitions.
What are your main goals for this year?
Our main goal is to have a good overall result in FSG, and to do that, we are focusing on reliability. We hope to reach this goal by sustaining theoretical knowledge, aiming to be on the podium for Engineering Design and be in the top 5 in all dynamic events at all competitions.
What made you think of/choose FSN?
This will be the first time we compete so early in the summer, as well as the first time we compete in FSN. FSN is known to be a really good competition and we are really looking forward to take part in it.

What makes you different from the other teams?
We are proud of being a diverse team with members from various of University majors and nationalities. The knowledge and skills within our team, as well as with a strong alumni culture, help us reach our goals year after year. We are truly accelerating our member’s future careers.
What is your most significant achievement in Formula Student so far?
Competition-wise, we had our best year so far in 2018. That year, we got 2nd place overall at FSG and FS Austria.
Do you think there are any positive outcomes for the competition from the current situation?
The COVID-19 situation has challenged everyone to think of innovative ways of getting jobs done, as well as finding new ways to communicate effectively with each other. We believe the situation has shed light on areas we otherwise wouldn’t have noticed needed improvement.
Describe your car in three words
Excellence, precision and innovative.

Seagulls Luebeck Team Interview
Introduce your team briefly and your history with Formula Student
We, the Seagulls Luebeck, are the Formula Student Team of the Technische Hochschule Lübeck. Since our foundation in 2018, we are now in our 3rd racing season and want to go to FSN for the first time this season. Our goal is to finish with our SG-03 this year at least in the midfield of the overall standings and maybe also take one or more placement in the individual disciplines.

This year we would like to present for the first time a car with a complete aero package. Therefore we are very much looking forward to drive a new track with a new car and to expand our racing experience and showing our progress to other teams.

What are your main goals for this year?

Our main goals this year are our planning, the technical components that should work properly and thus allow us a longer test time for the car and the drivers. This should also make better lap times possible.

To achieve this, we see the FSN race as an early opportunity to prove and show our skills under new circumstances. Due to the proximity to our home town, this is almost like a home game for us.

What makes you different from the other teams?

What makes us different to others, is the great commitment in the team and the excessive novelties that we successfully put in our car every year. The cohesion and the free and open way of working, helps us to be able to give everyone in the team the tasks what they want to work on.

What is your most significant achievement in Formula Student so far?

Our biggest success so far was the 2nd place in the Cost Report, FSA 2021. We are very proud of this achievement and would like to build on it.
We are looking forward to this with confidence and convinced with the fact, that we will achieve our goals this season.

What does joining Formula Student Netherlands mean to you?

Joining FSN is very important for our team because it is only two Formula Student team in Ukraine and even if one them go to the competition it will have a lot of attention in mass media. But we could not participate in the competition in the two last year because of COVID situation in our country. It is even harder for us now but we believe that our participation will help to raise morale in Ukraine.

What are your main goals for this year?

Our main goal for this year is to come to the Netherlands.

What made you think of/choose FSN?

Our is always looking for the new place of the competition. The first reason is that we have never been in Netherland so we decided to change the situation, Other one is interesting registration quiz that was very interesting.

What makes you different from the other teams?

Our team color is a turquoise. Our surnames are alike to names.

What is your most significant achievement in Formula Student so far?

Our the most significant achievement is participant in Formula Student Great Britain. We took the 60th  place from 90 at the event.

38th place Cost and manufacturing event

69th place Engineering Design Report

44th place Presentation Event

Do you think there are any positive outcomes for the competition from the current situation?

The main goals for us is to improve our engineer skills. So if we participate in the competition, we will have positive outcomes.

What can the Formula Student organising bodies do to help the struggling teams due to the recent events?

It was nice that organizers accepted us for free on the competition. It will be enough for us if it will have a place to rest and food on the event.
