  • Introduce your team briefly.
Lund Formula Student consists of 41 students from the largest university in Sweden, Lund University. Our main purpose is to educate our members, and we pride ourselves on our team spirit and fun attitude.
  • Tell us about your team’s history with Formula Student.
The team was funded in 2006 under the name LU Racing and has since built 9 combustion cars and one hybrid. Our two best results are an 8th place finish at FSUK in 2015, and a third place at the 2011 Formula Hybrid competition in New Hampshire. In 2016 the team ran into some hard times, and since then we have steadily been improving our results and organisation.
  • What does joining Formula Student Netherlands mean to you?
We are excited to participate in Formula Student Netherlands, and we have high hopes that it will one day become the new “home competition” for the Nordic teams.
  • What are your main goals for this year?
This year we hope to continue our positive trend, and we’re aiming for a top 10 placement at FSG. We also want to bring some event trophies back to Lund.
  • What made you think of/choose FSN?
Most of all it was the proximity to Sweden, but also the good things we heard from teams attending the event in the past.
  • What makes you different than the other teams?
We are the only team that has implemented Industry 5.0 in our manufacturing, and we also utilise vertical block-chain integration in our management structure. Finally, through the use of advanced artificial intelligence and big data analytics, we have gathered a lot of proprietary information that is used holistically in the product. In order to reach a carbon neutral testing phase, we exclusively use cloud based VR driver training. We believe that this innovative thinking will let our agile organisation get the upper hand on our competitors.
  • What is your biggest achievement in Formula Student so far?
Our 8th place finish at FSUK in 2015, competing against both the best combustion and electric teams in the world.
  • Describe your car in three words.
Courageous. Inspiring. Groundbreaking.
