  • Introduce your team briefly

We are a French formula student team created in 2010 by five students of ESTACA. Our school is located in Montigny-Le-Bretonneux, near of Paris, France. The team gathers 30 students from our school and gather us around an ambitious project which is EC-03, our third combustion engine vehicle.

  • Tell us about your team’s history with Formula Student

Like said previously, we designed and built two cars before this one. So, we could tell that we are a very young team. However, it isn’t a reason to not being ambitious. Indeed, each vehicle is a step ahead towards an extremely efficient single-seater.

  • What does joining Formula Student Netherlands mean to you?

Last year, we were qualified to FSN, but due to an important issue on the frame manufacturing, we sadly missed the competition. So, being re-qualified this year for FSN2019 is a wonderful opportunity to take a revenge on our disappointment of last year!

  • What are your main goals for this year?

This vehicle is a huge step in our organisation. Indeed, we decided to create a vehicle from the scratch: first carbon monocoque, new three-cylinder engine and first aerodynamic package are the innovation of this year. So, we hope to have a positive feedback on our design in order to have a solid foundation for the next generation.

  • What made you think of/choose FSN?

The first argument could be the proximity with France. Indeed, FSN is the closest competition from Paris. Besides, like said before, we really want to perform there for the team member who miss the competition last year. Besides, the Netherlands has a really big automotive culture, FSN seems really interesting.

  • What makes you different than the other teams?

Despites our youth, a lot of our former members are currently involved in motorsport. It can show the passion put in our vehicles and designs. Moreover, in our school, all the transportation fields are studied. So, we had aeronautical engineering student who work on the aerodynamic for example. Having different point of view on the vehicle is clearly a plus in the design process. In addition, the vehicle was almost entirely built by our members. Indeed, the carbon monocoque and the aerodynamic package was draped by our young talent under the guidelines of the experienced members.

  • What is your biggest achievement in Formula Student so far?

Our first vehicle, EC-01, did two competitions and in one of them, it was rewarded by the Best Newcomer in FSUK on the Silverstone track.

  • Describe your car in three words

Ambitious, home-made and elegant
